Keep in mind that even the H5006 (brightest American light I found) was a
35w/35w light with the H5001 (high beam) 50 w. In theory the European 55w
bulbs in a E-spec headlight is probably at least sorta legal since meet
FMVSS 108 specs. (55w low/65w high) 100W lights are not. *Anything* over
35w, particularly four of them, is going to need a relay and should wire
for at least 20 amps (FSM shows 20 ga wire on grounds). Further even four
65w high beams plus running lights, heater fan, engine load, and wipers is
likely to overload a stock 10 DN alternator (37 amp rated, 35 amp max
effective and only at high rpm.
So if planning to upgrade the lights, best to plan on upgrading the entire
wiring and charging system.
