<VV> Engine runs cool?

Now this is strange. I read in one forum where it is not uncommon for one
side of the engine to heat up sooner than the other. So, when I was running
the engine (on the bench) I did not worry when the passenger side damper did
not open. After all, a lot of air was escaping out of the open heater
ducts.
Tonight, I changed the oil, and restarted the engine. Fired right up, but
still won't idle below 900 rpm. I placed my hand over the end of the
tailpipe on the driver's side, (dual exhaust) and felt a nice warm stream of
air. I placed my hand over the tailpipe on the passenger side, and a nice
cool to luke-warm stream. I thought some wires might be crossed, but no,
all is well. I placed the pickup coil for the timing light on all three
wires and got a nice flash, indicating current is at least making it to the
plugs. I could even place my hand on the manifold end of the muffler and
exhaust pipe and hold it there, after 5 minutes of fast idle.
140 HP, Dual Exhaust
Petronix II Ignitor
AC R44F plugs (new and gapped to .035)
New 8mm Silicone wires.
Any thoughts appreciated.
