As far as rev limiting, the only rev limiting I know of on my Spyder is the
flow limitation of the turbo, YH carb and size of valves. There is no
wastegate or ignition governor. Maybe points bounce and valve floating! :-D

My first Corvair was 6 year old 1963 Spyder. All stock, except PO had installed an aftermarket tach in place of the factory one. Ran good, made boost.
I knew the redline was supposed to be 5500 rpm, but NO amount of plug/points changing or tuning would get it to rev over ~4000 rpm. It just stopped revving. At the age of 18 I had absolutely no qualms about standing on the accelerator while changing gears or eventually in neutral confirming and re-confirming that surprising behaviour. Eventually I figured out the tach was generic hot rod fare, and the PO had not snipped the right wires for 6 cylinder use, which left the default settings that made it think 8 cylinder when counting sparks. Then I was pretty sure the valves were floating around 5500, even though a friend's brand new 383 Barracuda had taught its owner a lesson about respecting if not honoring the redline by running like poop for several terrifying minutes after its first trip (way) beyond redline.
