Each of the keys has a slot on the inside. Each end of inside of each of
three keys has a raised area (which goes toward the center of the synchro).
(The other side of the key has a raised area in the center which goes
against the inside splines on the shifter fork selector "ring"-the outer
part of the synchro assy.). One end of the wire spring goes in the slot of
one key beneath the end "bump"-closer to the center of the key and the web
of the synchro . The rest of the wire rides below the end bumps on the other
two keys. The other side of the synchro is the same. A spring wire on both
sides. I stagger the end of the wire with the bent piece so it goes in a
different key.
Does this help?
