Hi Stephen,
Could it be that you have the wrong wheel cylinders? The wrong diameter
wheel cylinders could do that. The diameter might be stamped onto the
outside of the cylinder, if not, you could pop a dust cap and measure it.
Did you get them from a corvair vendor or?
Should be 7/8" front, 15/16" rear.
Aside from that, a remote possibility could be that someone installed a
proportioning valve between the front and rear. Locate that and change the
setting.
