Hi Mike and VV Friends,
I just checked and the '61 book shows both pointing outboard. I vair'fied
it on my van and that's how they fit without binding and the shafts being
straight. Now if you for some reason have the wrong door on the wrong side
then you may have a problem getting them not to bind since the attachment on
the door is offset. I also checked the mounting position of the thermostats
on the shroud and they are in the same relative position, it is the door
attachment that is offset requiring the swivel to be positioned with the pin
pointing outboard. I can only assume that this is the case with a late
model as well.
Talk to you later,
Dan Kling
