Well Jim, I have to play devil's advocate in this case. You say that 
visually AP is a superior job
to UBE but you then clarify that the UBE job started to deteriorate 
after five years. How then can you
now say that AP won't do the same after five years? Even if we assume 
that UBE has raise their
prices after 10 years to $100 each, can $200 each at AP be justified 
without really knowing that the
same fate awaits you four years from now? With pot metal you always 
roll the dice on plating longevity
regardless of who replates the item. It's the relative purity of the 
original product that most often determines
how long the new plating will last.
