my gutt feeling over the years due to long discussions with an old time 
machine shop guy, who is gone now, is never to reuse babbit type bearings. i 
suppose it might be overkill but thats my way.  i like the looks of the premium cast 
octane pistons i am installing in my rampy and will do it again in other 
engines with octane cut.  but then again i have put new lifters against old cams 
before and run them hard for many years...
just my take with flame suits on..hiding down in my dungeon shop.
