Yes Ed,
Those shoes were likely the ones that Corvair Houston had done up & sold
for our 85 convention. I don't think any in Houston still exist, but a
guy came up to me at the Carlisle 2003 convention (I was next to my car
with Corvair Houston signs on it) and showed me his shoes. I was
startled to see that they were originals, & he was quite proud of them
too. I took a picture of the shoes before he walked off, but afterwards
realized I didn't have a picture of his face, or his name, so I have no
idea who it was. I can send you a picture, if you want.

Pouring rain here today, would you believe 71/2" in 3 hours, everything
flooded, roofs collapsing, what a mess. Anyway it was a good day to sort
out and catalog my boxes and boxes of CC's. Naturally work would stop to
read an interesting article. I ran across a 1/4 page ad back in the 80's
for Corvair shoes, not brake shoes people shoes, sneakers or whatever
they are called today.
Really cool. Came in two colors red and black. I don't suppose any exist
today. Or do they??? Anyone on the list remember them? Have a pair? My
size is 101/2
