I'm not sure about any other children, but if you are 
referring to Dr. David E. Cole (PhD in Mechanical 
engineering), he doesn't work for GM proper, but is a very 
well known expert on the automotive industry.  He heads up 
the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) at the University 
of Michigan.  Undoubtedly he's consulted for GM (formally on 
informally) on many occasions.  In the 1970s, he like his 
father, was a huge fan of the Wankel engine.

If you Googlehis name, I'm sure you will find a bunch about 
him. He's frequently a plenary or keynote speaker at SAE 
conferences and the like.
