<VV> Reminder

Greetings all--

Well, it looks like someone feels like they were asked off the Plantation. 

When I first got on here in 97, there were people who would tell newbies "Take it to a Mechanic" or some other wise butt remark.  And there have been Vendor Wars, Flame wars of all types.

I guess Pastor Bob's been gone SO long that there are folks who don't remember him.  Bob and I locked horns a bazillion times, and ended up very good friends.  But Bob did have a bad habit of "packing up his toys and going home" FREQUENTLY.  It didn't take much for Bob to get angry and leave, only to appear again days or a week or so later.  It's just his personality, and if I had his resources I probably would either be a deep lurker or not here at all. 

Be certain that VV, even at it's absolute WORST, is a place of peace and Tranquilty compared to the Miata list, the Porsche list, and a few others I know about. 

Roger needs to keep a nice BITE ME in his pocket when folks send him nasty e-mails off line.  

I presently DON'T have a spare belt in my car, I usually don't.  I've only blown one on the highway, and I managed to glide in to the city employees lot in Norfolk  with the engine off. Called Walter Carter for to borrow a spare as he lived in town, and within 2 hours the Magistrate called me to say "a guy who looks like Ronald Reagan" was waiting for me in the lobby.  Walt not only brought me the belt, but had already put it on the car for me while I was working.  

THAT's the kind of people that are in the majority in this club.  Sorry Roger didn't hang around long enough to meet some of them. 

We should remember that at one time we owned one of these cars, and didn't know anything about it.  And before the internet, it was LOTS harder to get the info you needed to learn.
