Something is niggling at my brane (was working for Delco Remy at the time) 
was that the points plate with the adjusting screw & condenser (don't think 
anyone ever tried to use the enclosed allen wrench, a foot long flex driver 
with a hex end was in every mechanics toolbox) was too large to fit inside 
the six cylinder distributor cap used by the Corvair and to change would 
have required a whole new aluminum die casting mold (not cheap) for the base.
