<VV> ash tray removal from early

It just pulls straight up.

There are two parts - the insert and the lid.  The insert pulls straight out 
of the lid.  The lid pulls straight out of the dash, but the cover needs to 
be in the closed position.

has anyone on the list removed the ash tray from an early model? (i have a 
63 turbo convert) it appears that it pushes out from top to bottom.
