Depends on what you consider special tools. There are a number of snap ring
which retain bearings, as well as pressed on gears & bearings.... So, if you
have a good selection of snap ring pliers and a bearing seperator, then no,
there are no special tools required. It's not difficult, and I recommend a
digital camera when you disasemble it. Pay attention to the orientation of
the various components, this is where you may want to use the digital
camera.

Oh, a press would be helpful, but not necessarily required.
