Keep in mind that the cup in the M/C may have dried out and is not sealing 
properly. In this case the fluid may be going back into the reservoir and 
not leaking out. In that case the level will stay up but it will not hold 
pressure.

This is one of the few cases that as the cup swells again, it may "heal". 
OTOH it may be an opportunity for him to upgrade the vette to a dual master 
cylinder and single piston calipers, those four piston units are a real 
pain to keep right.
