<VV> Brake Master Cylinder...

  Hi:

  What are the signs of a bad master cylinder? I was helping a friend who has a 65 Convertible. The brake master cylinder was completely empty. The car has been sitting in his garage for a couple of years. We filled it up while pumping the brake pedal. 

  The pedal came up - but after 5 seconds it moves all the way down. There are no signs of leakage from wheel cylinders and the master cylinder is retaining all the brake fluid !

  Please help !
