Sorry Dan,
but this is incorrect as several people have already pointed out recently.
ADVANCING the cam lowers the torque curve down the rpm, RETARDING raises the
torque curve up the rpm range. This was necessary because of the low-speed 889
cam used in the PG 140 hp engines. So they actually tried to regain some top
end at the expense of the bottom end.
