When replacing a Harmonic Balancer and rear Motor mount, what is the correct
position to place the jack?

Sorry Jim, but I don't understand the question. Are you talking about
jacking the car or the engine?
My suggestion is to put the rear of the car on jackstands (two) elevating it
about 8-12 inches. Then put a jack under the rear of the engine using a wood
board to spread the load, and slowly let the engine down to separate the
engine from the rear mount.
Does that answer your question?
