It depends on the driving. With a 3.55 at 70 mph the power required to spin 
the fan is closing on the power needed to move the car (see the stock 
engine tests (power to move a 73 Impala at 60 mph on a level road was about 
15 hp - just a number from back in the day that sticks in the mind). I 
noticed about a 3 mpg drop (21 to 18) between a 60 mph caravan and a lone 
trip on I-4 at left lane speeds.

Also am jetted at 52 and have stock power valves with a worn engine so not 
optimal.

Have a pair of "just gone through" 66 Rochesters with new shafts and all by 
a pro who often posts here with 51s and a Carter ball bearing on top of the 
PE valves that I was going to mount but would consider swapping for an EFI 
set up if someone were so inclined 8*).
