Well, here I would have to disagree with Matt.
 
I have sent Ron a private reply, but as this is thread is getting longer, I  
decided to reply to the group as well.  
 
I believe that you get what you pay for, and when you are storing something  
that is valuable to you, or more importantly, if you yourself are working or  
even walking underneath it, I would NOT go cheap.  I have had lifts for  
probably 8 or 10 years, (I'm certain there are others who have had them longer)  
and I have looked at a lot of different manufacturers.  Some of them are  really 
cheap, and I would certainly not trust them enough to work under  them.  
 
By the way, I have a made in California Bend Pak HD9-XW.  It has a  9000 lb. 
capacity, is extra wide and extra tall, (I have 12-foot ceilings in my  
garage) and the rails are wide enough to fit a Corvair engine through.
