<VV> To rebuild or not rebuild, that is the question

I bet lots of folks on VV won't believe what I'm going to say about this  
but...
Button up the engine and get it running. Wait to rebuild an engine later  
when you have the proper budget. In the mean time you can work on the two or  
three million other things the car needs. 
 
If you "rebuild" the engine you have now, you won't really be doing a  
complete job and may very well need to rebuild it again in the future. By  putting 
it off now, you can better utilize your limited funds to get other  things for 
the car.
