How about a planetary gear set just outboard of the diff, one on each side

could use straight cut gears for cheapness ... uh, a little noisier ...

OH... hey, maybe this thing would run backwards .. let's see, little gears
in big gears x Sq.Rt speed of light... hydraulic factor of 3.14 , and uh ...
help mr transmission guy ...
Why not graft a planetary gear set onto the front of the saginaw, using a
longer input shaft (V8 kit part?) to drive through the modified original input
gear into the planetary set. When all locked, the set would just transmit the
drive back into the input gear. No Overdrive. When one of the elements is
locked, (the intermediate section I believe), the output to the original input shaft
speeds up, letting the engine slow down for cruise. How about parts from the
1960s Saginaw 3-speed w/overdrive, including the electric solenoids? Any real
trans guys out there? - Seth
