The front crossmember is held in with long bolts with "captured" muts. They
really cannot be reached without removing the gas tank. But as long as you
are that far, why not!
Drain tank by removing the fuel line and having a catch pan, do outdoors if
possible to avoid fumes being ignited.
Drop sway bar out, remove strap and "J" bolts. For re-installation, be sure
and have on hand replacement rubber hoses for the fuel line and filler neck.
Now you can access the captured nut area, generally you will turn the bolts
and the nut will spin inside its cage, grab with vise grips to hold.
While you have things apart, replace the brake line going over the top of
the tank.
