The added point for driven cars is aimed at addressing this. IMO, there
are some problems with the way that point (or fraction) is earned but
the basic idea is sound. It's a little recognition for cars that the
owners feel are roadworthy enough that they can be driven a significant
distance to the convention. And, it's a little compensation for the
dirt picked up along the way.
The three problems with the driving point are:
1) It should be a deduction rather than a bonus.
2) It's unfair to race prepared cars that aren't street legal.
3) It's unfair for local cars that might only be driven a few miles.
All three could easily be fixed. No need for a separate event. --J.B.

The trailered cars should be bunched together...and I think they should pay extra for taking up more parking space at the hotels. In Lexington, I even saw a motorhome with a trailer in the hotel parking lot taking up a total of 10 spaces...there was plenty of room...but it is the principle involved...and this person was too cheap to stay at a campground! The number of trailers at conventions is troubling...as I thought the club was geared toward DRIVING our cars and showing others the capabilities of the cars. Seeing one on a trailer going down the highway might make some think....Hey that car can't make it to the destination under its own power...or the owner feels more safe in a tow vehicle!
