<VV> Pertronix Failure

Hi, When my Pertronix failed, my car felt like the mechanical fuel pump was failing; that is, the car would suddenly cut out, sometimes restart, then stop completely. After stopping completely, the car would not restart even though fuel was getting to the carbs. I replaced the Pertronix with points and the car started immediately. I put the Pertronix back in and the car would not start. For the record, the Pertronix was the first series and I had it in for a bit over five years before it failed. I will get another Pertronix, but I will always carry a set of points for backup.
