<VV> Convertible top frame.....shippable?

The one I purchased we shipped via, of all things, Greyhound bus.  It wasn't
quite as smooth as UPS but it got here fine and the shipping cost was very
reasonable given the bulk and weight of the item in question.  The seller
just wrapped it in cardboard and taped the heck out of it, and it was fine.
The little parts came in a separate box.

Yes.

Last one was wrapped in cardboard and sent on a pallet.   However:

I transported one in the back seat, in boxes, after dismantling 
it.   Once you remove the bows it all folds up and breaks down into 
manageable chunks that will fit into boxes that sit on a bench seat easily.

Sorry, I actually didn't pay the shipping.   The guy who sent it 
would know but he's across town at the moment at work...

As mentioned, the other one was sent on a pallet wrapped in cardboard... at
least that's how it left here.

Seems to be it was around 75 lbs.   Someone correct me if I'm wrong.


The one I brought home from a show was in two boxes, each of which 
was easy to load into the back seat of a late coupe, minus the bows 
of course, which went in the back floor.

If you unbolt the bows and fold up each side and box them, then box 
up the bows and other loose pieces like nuts and bolts etc, the 
entire top frame could go into three relatively easily handled boxes 
and shipped UPS no problem.    If you get serious and dismantle the 
top further, it could likely fit into fairly small boxes.    The 
longest pieces are the bows, which aren't heavy and should all fit in 
a 8x8x48 box, no problems.     UPS regularly ships stuff in boxes 
longer and heavier than this all the time.

...you just need to make sure the guy on the receiving end knows how 
to get it back together.
