      When I needed a light setup to tow my '68, I found an excellent setup at U-Haul. It had 3" or 4" round lenses attached to flexible brackets that you set into a closed decklid. The wiring is as mentioned below.  This was 12-13 years ago, but I remember the whole setup was less that $20 then, maybe a little more now, but definitely cheap and easy.

Yes this is a GM product, I bought one years ago at our CNYCC Recall. 
It was nos in the box. It works very well and it is a neat idea. It is 
real easy to switch between my two cars.
