In a dry climate, static electricity can surprise you (Florida usually has
enough humidity to take care of that). Not saying you cannot be surprised
if you grab the output terminal of a spinning 10 DN alternator with no
wires connected just that I never have been and it would just be a surprise
- no current behind it.
Now if it was a "one wire" alternator with an internal regulator, I just
don;t know - I never tried with one of those.
