<VV> Beware Corvairs parked on Grass at Convention Concours

  With an abundance of caution I cite Stan East’s Corvair Activities at the Convention entry where he points out:

  For I then point out with even more caution what happened at the Lakeland Sun ‘n’Fun flyin this week in Lakeland. Hopefully, they see fit to dampen the grass before those superhot Corvairs hunker down.
   
  Lakeland, Florida – Twenty_four vehicles were damaged or destroyed Thursday afternoon after a grass fire broke out in a parking lot at the Sun ‘n Fun Fly_In.
  Authorities believe that heat from a low_slung Maserati’s catalytic converter caused dry grass in the parking lot to catch fire.
  The fire broke out at the main parking lot off of Pipkin Road. Lakeland, Polk and Mulberry fire departments responded and had the flames extinguished by mid_afternoon. Some cars have minor damage like scorch marks and melted tail lights, but others are burned down to the frame.
  No injuries were reported.
  Most of the parking is for spectators, and by late afternoon, some were not even aware their vehicles had been damaged or destroyed.
