that vent tube in plastic is used on a lot of 4 wheel drives at the end of a 
hose on the differentials as a vent among other uses on modern pickups.  i got 
one at napa right off the rack of fix it stuff for my pg after ordering some 
. then i saw that same part on a rack at parts plus the next week.  cant find 
a metal one yet but i bet i will someday. (this was over a year ago)
