Same article about owners refusing to let go of their now-dicontinued

With reference to GM transistor and parasitic d'Arsonoval tachs (pretty
much all from 1960 to 1973), it is a capacitor that is changed. 33 ufd
for
a 8, .47 ufd for a 6 & .68 ufd for a 4 (plus some minor trimming).
For more than you ever wanted to know get a copy of AC-Delco Service
Bulletin 3D-5 (mine is dated Dec 1, 1978 superceeding issue of October
1968.
The entire bulletin is 27 pages so if I scan it to a .pdf
1) it will take quite a while
2) be somewhere around 25 MB.
3) probably would need permission from GM to make available (is a way,
just
a bit complicated).
Basic parasitic circuit (and heart of transistor circuit) is just an RLC
bridge with some diode steering and a zener to clamp voltages.

Hey guys,
One of the guys I worked with emailed me here at home and said "Hey,
there's
a picture of a Corvair in the newspaper, Kentucky section, today...
YUCK" (He
says that just to tease me, he's really a good guy)... so I got Cheryl
to stop
and get the paper on the way home... Lo & behold it's Michael gassing up
his
car, and the article is from a reporter in Indianapolis... just a short
article about people driving older cars... I don't know if it's on the
web or not,
since I haven't looked...
I just thought I'd share.
Take care,

Anyone on the list with access to wholesale F150 parts or having had a
good experience with an internet parts source for same?
I need a front bumper for a '96 F150, chrome, with plastic pad.
Off post replies, please.

I remember this posting, too, my notes say:
Old GM tach:
swapping the capacitor: .33 uf for a V-8, .47 for a six, and .68 for a 4
cyl.

Frank,
Don't get too close to the edge and don't look down! It's a long way to
the bottom and that sudden stop at the end would really smart!!

i just got my octane cut pistons and sent them off to the machine shop
with
cylinders etc. in with the order ,the flysheet had 2 interesting (well
to me
anyhow) part numbers. they are in the "let us know if you are
interested"
category. one is for a 140 balancer tube(crossover?) wanting to know
interest
and benefits if known part number C11762 and for us FC owners , a 140
crossover for 140 manifolds using one muffler, part number C11758. i
was wanting a
pipe of larger diameter to fit 140 manifolds with a crossover and use
2
mufflers. i run 140 stuff now and like it. i have been waiting for
something
better a long time, playing with pipes etc as i get time and skill. to
be able
to buy what i need like this would be great. any comments on its real
benefits? (other than the neat sound) i just had a pipe made a few
weeks ago but
have not installed it yet, i think(hope) it will fit the lakewood with
minor
bending.
regards, tim colson
