A friend on another car list is highly regarded as being knowledgable in
anti-rust finishes. As such, he sells a product called Zero-Rust, a
non-isocyanate product. Other listers have used it with good results. I
asked him to comment on the recent post RE Spraying POR-15. He also provides
a couple of good sources of additional information. Here is his response:

Walt,
That walking sick cap is Isocyanates in the POR and it is deadly. The
manufacturer of Zero Rust won't allow anything with Iso's on the plant
property. Isocyanates are in almost all the catalysts used in the
finishing realm today and require fresh air supplied breathing apparatus
when spraying.
All the following points have been gleaned from the forums at
www.autobodystore.com or www.paintucation.com over the last several
years.
Beyond that major iso "aw shit", POR is about double the price of ZR,
has no meaningful shelf life, has NO UV stability, is hard to stick
anything to, does not come in aerosols, is called the "2 week tattoo"
because it's a bitch to get off your skin and I have seen more than
several comments from users over the last few years who have said they
had trouble getting POR to adhere to the work long term.

POR does make some items that are valuable to the resto guys but the
POR-15 just has a lot of shortcomings according to users of both.

We could bring a moisture cure urthane to the DIYer resto market but
figure there ar already several on the market and they all have the same
short coming, why bother?

Just passing on what users have said....
