hmmm between the shop manuals , and the other books offered for many years, 
and the nicely done tape of rebuilding the powerglide by chesapeake corvair 
club sold by clarks, the next step is understanding it and getting to do it.  
after you have done one , they are not that frightening anymore.  as for the 
differential ,i found that if i carefully mark the axle and pinion sleeves with a 
punch and record the number of turns, if no bearings had to be changed the fit 
will be as good as you started with and very acceptable. i have done it this 
way many times without any troubles.  now if you change ANY bearings all bets 
are off. best to check it anyhow.
