If they are screws, the best thing I've found for getting sheet metal 
screws out is an impact driver - one of those whack it with a hammer, 
often advertised as "replacing an impact gun".  It doesn't, but it's 
great for this job.  Keep a firm grip on it so the screw gets driven 
instead of the tool turning in your hand.
