It also created Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee, and changed part of the path of 
the Ohio River (which also ran backwards) and caused a section of KY to be lost 
to Illinois since the river dipped south near Fulton, KY...
If the New Madrid fault were to become that active I think St Louis would be 
devestated... as would Paducah, KY.
