<VV> how do you "nader killed the corvair"

I tell them:
No, Nader is just an idiot that wrote a book.  The Mustang and Camaro killed
the Corvair.
If they want more details, I tell them that it was cheaper for GM to build a
water cooled V8 car to compete with the Mustang than to get that kind of
straight line performance from the air cooled Corvair and that GM did not
really want to advertise the fact that the Corvair could already out corner
their flagship Corvette.

after i say i have a corvair, most every person states that it was the "car
that nader killed"

i have a "canned" response to this, it would be interesting to see what
people that read this site would say to such a person.
