Let me start by saying that there is nothing greater than hearing a motor
come to life after spending countless hours cleaning and rebuilding. It
felt great but then that split second is over and your ears tell you that
something is wrong the engine wont idle but has taken off like it is ready
for flight.
Here is the scope: Rebuilt 1965 110hp motor and carbs. The carbs I
double and triple checked the float level and drop. I only have one choke
set up as the other "coupler" (the piece that the top rod screws into)
came off. I don't believe that this should cause the racing engine. What
have I missed. What do I need to check? Any help would be greatly
appreciated (even if you can tell me the chapter from the Shop Manuel,
Corvair Basics, Tech Guides, or Bob Helts Classic Corvair.)
Thanks in advance!
Keith (almost jumping for joy) Hammett
