a) is a world of difference between a street tire and a race tire or a 
street car and a race car.
b) unless the 'vette has either the J56 brakes or been updated to disks, 
the Corvair will be able to late brake on every turn & after 2 or 3  turns 
in succession at full chat the stock 'vette brakes will be gone.
c) Corvair can stay on tail in turn (transients are similar) but Corvette 
should be pulling away as soon as the exit is visible (and be a bit 
sideways at the time)
