<VV> Carl Axup

Many of you in the Southern California area may know Carl Axup.
 
He was the first person I ever met from any Corvair club and he convinced  me 
that if I own
a Corvair that was the place to be. He had me in about 30 seconds.
 
This was at a Rt 66  Rendezvous, in San Bernardino, several years  ago.
 
I sorry to report that Carl passed away on Friday and will be missed by all  
of us in the
Inland Empire Corvair Club.
 
Carl was one of the "go to" guys whenever anything needed to get  done.
 
My most vivid memory of Carl was at our last autocross at Rialto Airport.  He 
was on the
course more than anybody. I never saw any grown man have so much fun in my  
life.
