PS - Chevy did this, with at least a flat 10 at one time. -  Seen at San 
Diego Convention, in a picture presented by Bill Mitchell, powering  a 62 Impala, 
as I recall. 
 
With an apology to my English friends, I must say - for 1962,  that engine 
had Mods and Rockers!
