<VV> music video --really, no Corvair when you think of it

An old friend of mine from Florida used to tell me
"You have to ask if the juice is worth the squeeze."
Let me delawyerize, simplify and condense this already
too-long and useless thread with a math formula. Maybe
then we can all discuss something else without endless
repetition:

Hot international singer with great pipes
+ free link on her obviously exensive and
expensive international website
+ drives "our " car rather than a Ferrari,
Bentley or Porsche
+ possible international exposure of small,
highly specialized club
+ celebrity by association (beats the hell out
of (I had one of those with a V8 in the front)
+ asks our permission(((!!!))) That was nice
of her.
        + we possibly gain members
+ posiibly some renewed interest in Corvairs
+ already drives car in video, provides huge
exposure (didn't need our permission)
____________________________________________
= we have everything to gain

      - She doesn't need our permission to do anything
      - she didn't have to ask us
      - if she just did it without asking, would we
even mention this (except to thank her)?
      - she doesn't gain a penny
      - we don't make a penny
     - I think I heard "South Africa." If she acts
without us, who will sue in international court to
stop her?
      - On what authority do we tell her no?
      - Who's going to (mis)represent our group in
saying no?
      - we don't have to like it
      - she doesn't have to spend her money to
promote us
      - we don't own the Corvair name, image or any
rights
      - this isn't Mel's music brought to you by our
club, as in "Brought to you by Pepsi." You'll probably
have to search the site to find the mention.
      - if someone draws the inference that we
approve of her driving a Corvair, so what?
      - unless our link appears among COMMERCIAL
sponsors who have paid for endorsement, so what?
      - if someone's imagination is strong enough to
draw the inference that we DO endorse her, SO WHAT?
WHO REALLY CARES????????
______________________________________________
= no down side. Not important. Mels's great,
her music's great, she looks great in the car, she
likes us. Leave it alone.

So unless someone is self-important enough to write
her with a logical objection, I suggest our top
officlal writes her a thank-you note. Or I can.
