Has anybody got a copy of the Delco (or Rochester?) Carburetor Parts and
Service Manual? This document was referenced by Herb Karner in the Tech
Guide. If you've one please let me know.

There were two commonly available references. I believe both have been
mentioned. There is the United Delco "Models H, HV Carburetor Service Manual"
Marked as Bulletin 9D-6 Models H, HV Sept. 1966 File in "D" section Replaces
9D-11 dated January 1960, 9D-22 Dated April 1964 - It has a big "Delco
Rochester" across the front. It includes assembly and adjustment techniques,
troubleshooting listed by type of customer complaints, and includes the four carb
models.
The other one is the Carburetor Training Program 9. Model H-HV Copyright
1972 by General Motors Corporation - Marked "M9-156I" I believe this is the one
that Clarks has reprinted, but the one I am looking at is an original. It
covers all the systems in the Carbs, using some of the exact language used in
the other book, but doesn't deal in customer complaints and only a little bit
of troubleshooting. The books share almost no illustrations.
I prefer the first publication. In the mid-1970's I bought 100 of them from
GM - probably through Helms - for 25 cents each and sold them at the Corvair
club meetings. I am down to a couple, which I will keep.
i think you can get the later manual from Clarks. - Seth Emerson
