Actually it depends on the DIAMETER of the tube / volume of air passing 
thru...

Stock / most aftermarket mufflers are  RESTRICTIVE types...vs.  absorbtion /  
reflection...

By the time it gets to the tailpipe.....you've already lost....gggg
