<VV> Caveman hubcaps

Today at a local car show my 60 "700" coupe with Monza hubcaps was parked 
next to a 62 Valiant. A beautifully restored two door hardtop, solid black. 
Anyway the hubcaps on the car were absolutely identical to 60 Monza except the 
center part was plain.The owner who has a reputation for building correct cars and 
showing them in national competition told me they were correct and showed me 
a factory brochure showing them. I was surprised to say the least.
  Anyone shed any light on this? Was it the same hubcap manufacturer?
