Thought it might be a good idea to put out a bit of advanced info on the Toss this year.
We'll be having all the usual fun and games and swapping and carshow and so on.
Information will be sent out to the chapters shortly
There will some changes:
Date: October 28, 29 & 30, 2005
Location: Same as the past several years - Sunrise Park in Palm Springs.
Car show will have 11 classes:
1. Early Closed
2. Early Open
3. Late Closed
4. Late Open
5. Station Wagon
6. UltraVan
7. FC Pickup
8. FC Van
9. V-8 Vair - includes V-6s or Whatever in a CORVAIR
10. Engineering - Use of CORVAIR engine in OTHER than a CORVAIR
11. Best of Show - The winner of this award will NOT be eligible for any other award even though it
might be the best in it's class.
Welcome Party will include a COSTUME CONTEST:
In keeping with the spirit of it being Halloween Weekend there will be a costume contest at the welcome party. Prizes and how many has not yet been determined. Everyone coming to the Welcome Party will receive 5 field raffle tickets just for showing up in costume.
This year we are raffling off a completely restored 1963 Monza Coupe. The car includes the following:
Complete rebuilt drivetrain by Ed Corson:
1. 102HP engine including new pistons, cam amd valves plus all the usually replaced parts.
2. 4 speed manual transmission
3. Delcotron Alternator
4. Electronic Ignition
5. Electric Fuel Pump
New Brakes
New tires on Classic slotted mag wheels
New Paint - Light Metallic Blue (very similar to '63 Corvair color)
New Carpet
New Headliner
New Padded Dash
New Door Panels
Many other NEW parts
AM/FM CD player w/ 3 way Speakers (Original, restored AM radio will be included)
Many parts retored or rebuilt by IECC Club members and professionals utilizing well over 100 years of combined
Corvair experience.
Tickets are $5.00 and only 1500 will be sold. They are available NOW!
