Thats simple, all of my Vairs were not running when we got them!   All of 
them had been sitting longer then I have even been alive as well. 
Except 
one, the old 61 POS.  We drove it home 70 miles without incident, just 
got a little hot on the freeway.   But Matts story is reminiscent of when 
we took my 63 with its tired 110 out of town before it got rebuilt.  60 
miles and 6 quarts of oil we gave up and turned around and ordered it a 
set of rings!
