It might be the best breakfast place in the world (and I quite like their 
evening meals) - but it has absolutely the worst decor in the world, and 
provides the tackiest ambience.

With its totally unconvincing 'country store' shopfitting (where I would 
guess that the reality is that Cracker Barrel have probably bankrupted lots 
of genuine country stores) and its ghastly, tacky shop and largely fake 
'old' merchandise, it has to be the most tasteless and shallow place I have 
ever been in.

And what irritates me the most is that in my experience they invariably keep 
you waiting (intentionally, I suspect) so that you have to sit on the fake 
rockers (For Sale) and are tempted to buy their fake merchandise in their 
fake shop. It encapsulates, for me, everything that is wrong about the 
direction America is going in.

It is SO FAKE!
