<VV> re:newspaper under carpet

..There's 3 possible reasons:: 1-it may have been in a shop for a while,and got left there by a mechanic 'on break'--do you see any evidence of collision work?or they replaced the carpet due to a stain/burn hole? 2-was it 'placed' just so? I've seen newspaper in older houses,used as "insulation" under flooring/wallboard/in attic..3-the paper,date or specific article, may have some significance,like a 'time capsule'...Tom
