I tried the idiot Brit act when I got stopped doing 60 in a 45 in Vermont in 
the 8-door, but it didn't work. I think the reason was because the limit was 
a blatant revenue-raiser (we have those too) and the guy was hidden where a 
55 went down to 45. I had been doing 60 in the 55, and I was late slowing 
down (he was about 10 yards inside the 45). As it was a 2-lane highway (do I 
mean that? What we Brits call a dual carriageway - i.e. where there are 2 
lanes in each direction with a centre reservation), and it went down from 
the 4 to 2 lanes in about another 300 yards, for a small township. But he 
caught me before that - as I said, it was a revenue-raiser.

It raised that township $120, although I have always been rather prod that 
the 8-door was *capable* of breaking the speed limit!
