I drove my convertible 260 miles round trip to day to attend a memorial show
for a young lady who passed away last week after a brave battle with cystic
fibrosis. The show was held at the Hooters in Hiram, Georgia (near Atlanta)
and in spite of the sad circumstances, everyone seemed to have a good time
and a lot of money was raised for charity.
The show was organized by the Atlanta area Corvette club, but anyone was
welcome to attend. We had five Corvairs there: one took 3rd place in the
muscle car category (it's a 12.8 second 1/4 mile car - 140 engine, Holley
650, Nitrous), and two other Corvairs took third and first in the antique
category.
